Numbers: Lesson Guide

From shopping to giving out your phone number, counting in Italian is a foundational skill.

Language & Cultural Tips

One Word: Italian numbers are written as a single word without spaces. E.g., trecentocinquantadue (352). They drop the final vowel before -uno and -otto (e.g., venti + uno = ventuno).

Punctuation: Italy swaps the comma and period for numbers! A comma is used for decimals (1,5 = one and a half) and periods are used for thousands (1.000 = one thousand).
