In Italy, a supermarket aisle is called "il corridoio". At the cash register (*la cassa*), the clerk will usually ask if you have a loyalty card ("la tessera fedeltà") and if you need a bag ("il sacchetto" or la busta). Supermarkets charge a few cents for bags, which are required by law to be biodegradable.
