Colors in Spanish act as adjectives, which means they must match the noun they describe in gender and number. They also come after the noun.
Ending in -o: Colors like rojo, blanco, negro, amarillo change to -a for feminine nouns (la casa blanca).
Ending in -e or consonants: Colors like verde and azul don't change for gender! (el libro verde / la planta verde). For plural, just add -s to vowels (verdes) and -es to consonants (azules).
